Charity Auction of Talents for Talents

On 20 June Zonta Den Haag 1 celebrated its 45th anniversary with a charity. Zonta Den Haag 1 is the first Zonta club in the Netherlands. The theme of the charity was an “Auction of Talents for Talents”.

All 30 members of the club donated more than 30 of their own “talents”, varying from a horse riding lesson to a lunch with an MP and from a wine tasting evening to a reading on the classical theatre of Japan. The auction was led by two female auctioneers from Christies.

To prepare for the event the members of Zonta Den Haag 1 went out to visit the other 23 Zonta clubs in the Netherlands, to present the idea and to invite everyone personally. In total more than 70 Zontians from 16 Zonta clubs in the Netherlands were present. The € 8.500 raised will be used as a gift for 3 talented young Dutch women: an architect, a couturier and a singer to help them make their professional dreams come true.
